Find a pre-paid debit card through a company you trust and start adding money to that card whenever you can. Do make sure that you check into any activation fees, monthly charges, or withdrawal fees that you need to keep in mind. Also, you might want to find a secure place to hide the card inside of the vehicle instead of keeping it in your wallet. The main reason for this is because you are much more likely to find yourself tempted to use it for something else if it is in your wallet.
Hide Cash In The Vehicle
If you are going to do this, you need to make sure that you hide the cash very well. It cannot be anywhere that can be easily seen when someone walks past your vehicle. You also would not want your passengers to ever know where the cash is. If you do not have that as an option, you could always leave the money in an envelope and tape it to the underside of your seat. As you save more money, simply add it to the envelope so it will be there when you need it.
By being proactive and making sure that you will have the money you need for towing services, should you ever need to call for them, you will not have to worry as much should you get into an accident or break down.
